Art, Food, Love

Exactly a year and a day ago I started my blog with a post about how my boyfriend Nicco and I celebrated our first anniversary. So as I mark my first year of blogging and welcome a new year ahead of more blogging, here I am writing about our 2nd anniversary date! :) It's only fitting, after all, as Girl About Town's official photographer, Nicco is as much part of my blog as he is of my life!

We went to Gallery Vask, BGC this year, a fine dining restaurant that offers a unique dining experience that combines a relaxing ambience inspired by art, fashion, and culture and a gastronomic feast especially designed and prepared by Spanish Chef Jose Luis Gonzales.

We ordered the "Emotions" menu which is a 10-course menu composed of the following:

Magellan's Dimsum

Tuna Pod (Kalamata Olives, Basil, Tuna, and Lemon Grass Ice Cream)

Beer Urchin (Sea Urchin, Beer Clams, Foie Gras, and Orange) was Nicco's favorite!

Ravine (King Crab, Coconut meat, Avocado cream, Cilantro, Pumpkin pebbles, Buko Soup)

Wood (Smoked baby squid, Wood onion chips, Onions and whiskey soup) was my favorite!

Palm Crisp (Coconut sorbet)
The staff invited us to come to the kitchen and check out how they made this dish! It was so cool, Nicco and I wanted to try it ourselves! LOL

Cochinillo (16 hour sous vide baby pork, Pumpkin gnocci, and Vanila sauce) - Crispy on the outside and so tender and juicy on the inside!

Pop (Warm chocolate balls, Strawberry oregano coulis, Ginger ice cream, Mangosteen) - The name says it all! The flavors really pop in your mouth! One of our favorites too!

Sakura (Yuzu mousse, Yogurt sponge, Dalandan crumbs, Sencha ice cream) -Perfect harmony of different flavors in one dessert!

Petit Fours - 4 different flavors of chocolate! Need I say more?

Aside from good food, the service was exceptional too. The waiters and chefs were very accomodatating and friendly throughout our two-hour dining experience. According to the manager, the seamless integration of the kitchen and dining area is intended to give the diners a greater view and appreciation of the intricacies involved in preparing each special dish.

Thank you Nicco and thank you Gallery Vask! It was indeed a perfect way to celebrate two important milestones that have changed my life in the most remarkable way! :)
