A Jellybean Girl in Bali

If your idea of a holiday destination is a tropical country where it is hot and sunny nearly all year round, then Bali, Indonesia is just the place for you. And if you're headed thereabouts any time soon, make sure you bring along lots of light clothing like loose tank tops, cotton shorts and dresses, and your favorite flip flops, the better to enjoy this island's beautiful sights.

That's exactly what I did when I had the opportunity to fly over and spend five wonderful days there courtesy of VASELINE.

Thanks to JELLYBEAN STORE, I had just the perfect wardrobe to enjoy some of the interesting sights Bali has to offer. They have the perfect piescs to take along on a summer holiday, like floral skorts and sleeveless maxis, and colorful printed rompers like the one I have on below.

On two previous posts, I already featured two of the most famous beach clubs there (HERE and HERE) - after all amazing beaches are what Bali is best known for!
On separate days, we also had the opportunity to visit two other famous sights in Bali - Turtle Island and the Tegalalang Rice Terraces in Ubud.
Jump off point to the Turtle Islands was the Water Sport Tanjung Benoa where one can enjoy jetskiing, parasailing, banana boat and flying fish facilities. From here you can rent a glass bottom boat for the 15-minute ride to Turtle Island, a sanctuary for giant turtles (pawikan) but also other animals like snakes, falcons, iguanas, and bats! Most of the animals are "domesticated" and used to the presence of people so you can actually touch and hold some of them!

On another day, we took an hour and a half drive to the Tegallalang Terraces in Ubud. Having seen our own amazing steps to heaven, Banawe Rice Terraces in the Philippines, this was less than impressive for me. But I loved the shopping! And here in Ubud Central Market is the place to shop for souvenirs, batik, home decor and silver jewelry. In between sightseeing and shopping, we made a stop at Bebek Joni where we had an amazing lunch of what else but crispy fried duck! Bebek is Indonesian for duck!
The restaurant offered the added attraction of an amazing ricefield view and we couldn't resist the temptation to take a ton of pictures!
