Holiday at ARUGA

Over the APEC holidays, I had a most relaxing stay at the ARUGA by Rockwell

Aruga is a Filipino term that means "taking care of" which is perfect for the type of service we've come to expect from the ROCKWELL brand. These serviced apartments have virtually everything you'll need for a most pleasant and relaxing staycation, which was exactly what I was looking for! It starts with the location, so conveniently nestled in the heart of the swanky Rockwell commercial center. I particularly love that it's right across the Powerplant Mall
Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff who accomadated us quickly to our one-bedroom suite. I promised myself I'd make particular mention of the bellhop on assignment during that holiday, clearly a busy week for the hotel, but the guy went about his work like we were the only guests around - very courteous and solicitous, I truly felt welcome!

The first thing you'll see when you enter the suite is the well-appontee dining area that sits six people. To the right is fully equipped kitchen that has an oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and refrigerator, and just by the corner, a washing machine and dryer. Oh and there were plates, serving bowls, utensils, coffee cups and everything really.

The living room is perfect for lounging around or watching your favorite shows on the huge flat screen TV. By the window is a door that leads to the balcony overlooking the Rockwell shopping and leisure district. We got the bedroom with the king-sized bed - so fluffy I had the coziest sleep in weeks! It had a dresser with a second flat screen TV and roomy closets, one of which stored the ironing board.

So really the suite basically had everything you'd need to feel right at home!

The hotel also has a big swimming pool on the 3rd floor which offers a great view of the city. You can go for a swim or just relax by the lounging chairs while sipping a cool drink. It also has a gym that has complete equipment for a good workout during your stay.

One of my biggest considerations when I go to a hotel is how good the breakfast buffet is. I was a little disappointed because the buffet had limited choices but still had the regular breakfast fare if bacon, fried bangus, corned beef, and eggs and some fruit and cereal. as well. I really enjoyed the waffles and pancakes station though I wish they had more toppings to choose from.

Overall, we certainly had a pleasant stay at the ARUGA by Rockwell! Definitely home away from home only a lot better!
