Enjoying the Holidays at Oakwood Premier Manila

Today on the blog, I'll be talking about our enjoyable two-night stay at the Oakwood Premier Hotel during the holidays.

My family and I wanted to go to a place where we could relax, de-stress, and enjoy the holidays as a whole family- and of course by whole, i mean including the littlest and furriest of the family, Pumpkin! We felt the holidays just wouldn't be as happy without this beloved creature so we went on a hunt for a nice, pet-friendly hotel and lo and behold, I stumbled upon OAKWOOD PREMIER JOY-NOSTALG CENTER MANILA, a five-star fully-serviced apartment in the heart of Ortigas Center, Metro Manila!
I must admit it was what initially drew us to the place but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot more to love about the place.

Upon arriving, there was a long line that greeted us at the lobby. These are the holidays, after all, what did we expect? So we patiently fell in line, but as it turned out, it wasn't such a long wait, after all, and before we knew it, we were being ushered into our suite by the efficient and friendly staff. And that's Reason-to-LOVE #2: Throughout our stay, probably the hotel's busiest time of the year, every single staff remained warm, friendly, and solicitous. Even when my dad kept calling housekeeping for various stuff from fresh towels to wifi password to extra plates.

Reason-to-LOVE #3: The suite is HUGE compared to other serviced apartment/hotels I've featured in my blog. The living room has a big, comfortable couch (big and comfy enough for one of us to sleep in!) and we got to relax and watch some movies and (an NBA game or two) in the high definition 40" LCD TV with sound bar home theater system. And Pumpkin loved taking a nap and rolling around the rug!

Reason-to-LOVE #4: The bedroom is so spacious with a soft and fluffy king-sized bed and luxurious linens, we all loved to sink into all day! But this was my mom's haven - and as she is won't to do on staycations like this - she lazed around on the bed for most of our stay watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians (which was on marathon on Christmas day) on the second 40-inch a flat screen TV in the suite.  The rest of the time she was either busy writing on Christmas cards on the executive desk and then sticking them on the gifts we had brought along to give out to friends we were seeing during our stay, or lounging on the lazy boy with her iPad greeting people on Facebook and Instagram! And she loved the big bathroom that had a built-in steam and rain shower plus a stand-alone bath tub and its own TV as well - my mom could live in this hotel in bliss!

There's also a fully equipped kitchen where Nicco, my boyfriend the chef,  got to prepare my parents and I a sumptuous meal. Though, my only complaint was that there weren't enough dishes and utensils and we were charged extra for additional ones we requested.

Reason-to-LOVE #5: The restaurant at the hotel called Nostalgia is absolutely beautiful. It has such a romantic and peaceful vibe to it. It also has an amazing view of Ortigas Center if you sit by the window, which is where we enjoyed a yummy breakfast and some delicious apple pie and hot chocolate for merienda. Other than that, I guess you could say we enjoyed staying in our room and cooking away!

My dad, Nicco, and I did get a chance to enjoy some pool time during our last day at the hotel. The indoor pool is warm and inviting and boasts of underwater music! And since it is on the 6th floor, you'll enjoy a great view of the city while taking a dip. And yes, that's Reason-to-LOVE #6!

However, if you guys love going for a swim while on a staycation, I'd suggest you guys visit Oakwood on a low season since the pool was packed during our two-day stay.

Since I was on vacation and chill-mode during the holidays, I wasn't able to go for a workout at the Fitness Center but from what I could tell, they have pretty much all you'll need for a good workout and you'll have a good view of the pool too while going for a run on the treadmill or watch videos on any of the LCD screens found all over the place.

Overall, we had such a wonderful stay. The room was topnotch, the staff was friendly and accommodating (not only to us, but even to Pumpkin as well), the Nostalgia restaurant was beautiful and served good food, and we just relaxed the whole time! It's definitely a place I would recommend if you want to get away from the busy city and just enjoy some relaxing quality time with your loved ones. It's honestly one of my favorite staycations to date!
